I’m Hod Felber, founder of hodsec. I’ve investigated hundreds of cyber incidents, from opportunistic attacks to targeted intrusions that went unnoticed for months. I’ve also trained military teams, universities and enterprises to investigate and respond to attacks themselves.
When something goes wrong, you need someone who stays calm, connects the dots and explains what’s happening in plain language. At hodsec you work directly with me. I’ll tell you what I know, what I don’t know yet, and what I think we should do next.
Investigate, build, teach
My work goes beyond investigations. I’ve built security infrastructure, designed investigation and response playbooks, and led complex projects from the ground up. For years I’ve also taught cybersecurity to military teams, universities and enterprises. Each of these makes the others better: investigations keep my training grounded in real cases, teaching forces me to explain things clearly, and building means my recommendations are ones your team can actually carry out.
When the pressure is on
Real incidents rarely follow the playbook. I’m comfortable working when information is incomplete and the stakes are high. My approach is methodical and based on evidence, but never rigid. My job is to turn uncertainty into a clear plan and to explain it without jargon.
